Deputy Clerk: 

The Town of Canton is seeking qualified applicants for the 30-Hour/week position of Deputy Clerk.  This position is responsible for providing a variety of routine clerical and administrative support to the Administrative Assistant/Town Clerk as well as Town committees.  This position involves the collection of various fees and taxes and issuance of licenses and registrations.  Duties also to include handling of vital records and providing support to the Registrar during elections. This position involves extensive public contact. Experience in Microsoft Office applications required and TRIO municipal software is a benefit.  Pay is based on experience and qualifications and ranges from $14-$18 per hour. Administrative Assistant / Town Clerk:

The Town of Canton is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Administrative Assistant.  This is a responsible administrative and clerical position with daily interactions with customers doing a wide variety of tasks from registering vehicles, taking payments, to working in the office.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Tax Collector, Treasurer, Town Clerk, Registrar of Voters, Secretary, Bill Collector/Treasurer of the Abatement Plant, General Assistance Administrator, Secretary to the Selectmen, and other related duties.  This is a challenging and responsible position for a proactive and team-oriented individual.  Work includes extensive public contact, working knowledge of municipal software (TRIO), Excel spreadsheet, Payroll procedures, Accounts Payable, Tax Collecting procedures, and following State and Federal laws, and local ordinances as apply.  Pay is based on experience and qualifications and is in the range of $17-$24 per hour.  Benefits are available to be determined upon hire.  Deadline for receipt of application is Thursday, July 5th by noon.
