Historic Building Movie Night

GrowSmart Maine is hosting a “movie night” showing a 30-minute film about bringing a historic building back to life and its impact on the community.  The movie will be followed by a discussion of ideas for doing similar things in the Towns of Canton, Livermore, Jay, Wilton and Livermore Falls. The movie and meeting will be from 6:00 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday September 17th at the Livermore Falls Town Office.  If you would like to attend or are interested in finding out about local projects to improve our towns let the Town Office staff know or message Malcolm Ray on Facebook.

Special Town Meeting 9-4-14

THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL TOWN MEETING NEXT THURSDAY SEPT 4TH AT THE FIRE STATION AT 6:30 PM. THIS IS TO DO A FINAL VOTE FOR THE FUNDING OF THE STAPLES HILL ROAD REPAIR PROJECT.

 

Staples Hill Road Bid Documents

The Town of Canton is seeking bids for reconstruction of a one half mile section of Staples Hill Road in the Town of Canton. Bid documents can be downloaded from the Town of Canton’s website (http://townofcantonmaine.org/) or picked up at the Town Office at 9 Staples Hill Road on Mondays and Wednesdays between 8 am and 4 pm, Thursdays between 9 am and 5 pm and Saturdays between 8 am and noon. The successful bidder must be prequalified by the Maine DOT in Highway Construction. Bids must be received at the town office before 5 p.m. 14 August 2014. Bids will be publicly opened and read at the selectmen’s meeting on 14 August 2014 at 6:30 p.m. Bids will be accepted from all bidders. For more information call the Town Office at 207-597-2920.

The Town of Canton also has a pile of granite behind the Town Office that will be sold to the highest bidder. Please submit sealed bids labeled “granite” to the Town Office with payment in full.
All bids must be returned to the Town Office no later than 5 PM Thursday July 24, 2014, to be opened at the Selectman’s meeting that evening.
The Town of Canton reserves the right to refuse any and all bids.

The Town of Canton is seeking bids for 5 land lots in Canton. All information regarding land value, etc is available in the Town Office and on the website. All bids must be sealed and labeled according to the lot you are bidding on, with full payment included. The “Village Ridge” property will be minimum bid of $81,150.60 with 10% down, and paid in full no later than August 31, 2014.
